Diablo 4 was officially announced at Blizzcon 2019 and everyone is freaking out. It is really easy to understand why since we are talking about one of the most iconic franchises in gaming, ever, and a huge success story for Blizzard.
Blizzard told fans that the game is going to be “dark, gothic” and that it will be a “medieval version of Hell”. Wasn’t that supposed to be the case with all Diablo games? Still, what is important is that the game will be available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Also, by the time it will be launched, since there is no official release date, and by knowing this particular game developer, it will most likely also be available on PS5 and the new Xbox.
Now, let’s leave out all the speculation and take a look at the cinematic launch trailer, together with gameplay footage. The video below shows that, straight from Blizzcon.
Some time ago there were leaks saying that Lilith was going to appear in the game. I did not know about this. So, I was incredibly surprised when I saw Lilith and I was really happy to see it. Lilith as the primary antagonist of the game is great, although it does feel like it is all because of the wave of women empowerment and support. Still, even if this is the case, it does not really matter. Lilith looks great.
Based on the gameplay trailer, the first 3 classes confirmed are the classic druid, barbarian and sorceress. Obviously, so many are already complaining about this. I, for once, would have loved to see a necromancer. But, I fully realize that this would be a good launch as an add-on to make some extra money, just as with Diablo III.
What is interesting with this new look at Diablo 4 is that adventures look a lot like Diablo 2, while the gameplay looks a lot like Diablo 3, but with much better graphics. You will go through hundreds at once to get to Lilith.
There will also be a PVP aspect in Diablo 4, with special areas just for this, and you will be able to ride a horse to get faster from one area to another.
While nobody really knows when Diablo 4 will be released, it will be huge. I did see quite a remarkably high number of people that said they will not buy the game because of what Blizzard did to the Heartstone player advocating for Hong Kong. Everyone knows this is rubbish. It is Diablo 4 after all. Even if the game sucks, like WWE2K20, it will still be a huge hit.
